2. “Move For Me” Kaskade (5/20/08) great, shallow lyrics that acknowlege their own shallowness; the most hypnotic beat of the last two years
3. “You’ll Find a Way (Switch and Sinden Remix)” Santogold (4/29/08) better than the orig.
4. “Time To Pretend (Clean Version)” MGMT (3/18/08) from the movie soundtrack for 21
5. “Mansard Roof” Vampire Weekend (1/29/08) the band you want to dismiss for being Ivy League brats and yet impossible to not like with that sound somewhere between the artsy-fartsy of The Shins and the two tone ska of The (English) Beat
6. “With Every Heartbeat” Robyn (1/29/08) the most emotional release of the last two years here, even though it's been out in her home country for longer
7. “Brighter Day (feat. Juakali)” Pinch (11/19/07) so most of my recent discoveries have been in the UK garage, grime, and dubstep field; no use listening to this one without a subwoofer at your computer
8. “Do You Feel Me” Anthony Hamilton (11/6/07) that old school soul from American Gangster
9. “Paper Planes” M.I.A. (8/21/07) it's all about the sound effects on the chorus and what she's actually referring to versus what you probably think she's talking about
10. “Drivin’ Me Wild (feat. Lily Allen) Common (7/31/07) ah, Lily Allen, my favorite artist in 2007, together with my favorite recent rapper
11. “Doomsday Clock” Smashing Pumpkins (7/6/07) also known as the Transformers song
12. “Music (feat. Lauryn Hill)” Joss Stone (3/20/07) the newest addition to my "Top Twenty of All Time" list; the Lauryn Hill section gives me chills EVERYTIME
13. “Ponytail” Panda Bear (3/20/07) one guy and a laptop, overdubbed to Phil Spector perfection, with a twist of Beach Boys; my #1 song of 2007
14. “Someone Great” LCD Soundsystem (3/12/07) and I don't even like LCD Soundsystem
15. “Lost Without U” Robin Thicke (2/13/07) if you're into that sort of thing
16. “Objects of My Affection” Peter Bjorn and John (2/6/07) like a motivational march
17. “Red Rabbits” The Shins (1/23/07) the first song on my baby's "go to sleep" CD
18. “Oil and Water” Incubus (11/28/06) this song made me change my mind about Incubus; P.S. I love breakup songs; if I started some kind of music ensemble, we would do nothing but breakup songs
19. “Cellphone’s Dead” Beck (10/3/06) the last section makes my whole scalp tingle
20. “All That Makes Us Human Continues” BT (8/29/06) the song that restored my hope in the future of music; I had all but come to accept that I would never hear anything fresh or original ever again; by the way, I saw BT last week downtown; he did a regular DJ set and yet opened with an original club take on Death Cab For Cutie, then went back to some acid house before mixing up Depeche Mode like nobody's business
OUT TODAY ON DVD: BABY MAMA

I think there are two options for embedding the mix in the post.
1. There should be an html code available that you can copy and paste.
2. (This is what I did.) You can also post it directly to blogger from the site. It'll post just the mix, but then you can go back and edit it with the explanation, etc.
Can't wait to give it a listen!
Some... things... never... change. This is a timewarp at 7.42 EST on September 16, 2008.
I am very glad you sent it.
