Erasure Is As Old As My Youngest Brother

I'm a collector. I have over 50 Erasure CDs including albums, box sets, EPs, and maxi-singles (not including recent downloads) and I began collecting more than 15 years ago. I blame it on the internet. I was content just to buy albums I could find used at any record store until auction Websites came along and made it both affordable and simple to own every non-album track by a band. The reason I went with Erasure is not because they were my favorite, but because they offered a cheap, easy head start. They put all the differing versions of their first 20 singles in four box sets and after I got those I just felt obligated to continue collecting. Plus they had more B-sides than either New Order or Depeche Mode, whose singles were filled more with mixes, and I was always more interested in B-sides. To this day I own more Erasure CDs than I do of New Order and Depeche Mode combined. In honor of the recently released Pop! Remixed CD, a prequel to the upcoming Pop! The First 40 Hits box set, I'm including my personal favorites from over the last quarter century (excluding songs from the album, Chorus, of which I like all the songs, plus the artwork throughout the liner notes too):

1. "Heavenly Action" (1985) from the album, Wonderland
2. "Sometimes" (1986) from the album, The Circus
3. "If I Could (Orchestral Arrangement)" (1987), from the compilation album, The Two Ring Circus
4. "Witch in the Ditch" (1988) from the album, The Innocents
5. "Like Zsa Zsa Gabor" (1988) B-side on the single, A Little Respect
6. "Stop!" (1988) from the EP, Crackers International
7. "La Gloria" (1989) from the album, Wild!
8. "You Surround Me (Gareth Jones Mix)" (1989) B-side on the single of the same name; my absolute favorite Erasure song
9. "Dreamlike State" (1990) B-side on the single, Star
10. "Perfect Stranger (Acoustic Version)" (1991) from the EP, Am I Right?
11. "I Love Saturday" (1994) from the album, I Say I Say I Say; see also the "Beatmasters Dub Mix" on the single
12. "Grace" (1995) from the album, Erasure
13. "Magic Moments" (1997) cover version of 1957 Burt Bacharach/Hal David song; appeared on the U.S. version of the album, Cowboy and on the movie soundtrack, Lord of Illusions
14. "Where in the World" (2000) from the album, Loveboat
15. "Alien (Acoustic Version)" (2001) from the EP, Moon and the Sky: Plus
16. "Make Me Smile (Manhattan Clique Extended Mix)" (2003) from the album, Other People's Songs
17. "Let's Take One More Rocket To the Moon" (2005) from the album, Nightbird
18. "Cry So Easy (Acoustic Version)" (2006) from the Boy EP
19. "Sucker for Love" (2007) from the album, Light at the End of the World
20. "Chorus (Electronic Periodic Remix)" (2009) from the compilation album, Pop! Remixed
