Merry "Halfway To Christmas Day" Day!

This year makes the 4th that I have distributed "Halfway To Christmas Day" cards on June 25th at my office. My coworkers have come to not only expect it, but anxiously anticipate it. I include handwritten reminders inside each card, such as "New Year's resolutions should be halfway resolved," and "time to start working on your actual Christmas cards." My wife and I are horrible about sending personalized Christmas cards out on time at the end of the year. I recommend starting after Halloween rather than Thanksgiving weekend/Black Friday (you know you're not going to get anything productive accomplished then). Starting in June - no problem. Since you, my online reader, probably won't receive a physical card today, may I offer this timely piece of advice: Gather everything in your house that you haven't used since last Christmas, post it on Craigslist, or hold a summer yard sale with lemonade for the kiddies and save your earnings for this coming Christmas when you'll really need it. (This is mostly a call to arms for myself.)

Merry Halfway to Christmas. I like your advice. I think we should follow it.
