The Trade Roots Reggae shop near my place closed around a year ago, so I'm relieved to have found something similar.
I realize vegetarian restaurants normally bring to mind dreadlocked yippies and third world flavors (at least, they did for me), but that's not Spread. The window to the left of the chinese place pictured happens to be the fanciest, most expensive restaurant I've been to outside of Park City. The owner makes different flavors of peanut butter. We got the white chocolate blueberry.
What's San Diego's best café? Why, it's right across the street from Spread (and a theater where my wife used to perform). We just go for steamed milk - they carry my preferred brand for flavored syrup shots, plus there's live music at night and a really high ceiling.
Where can one find all these commercial establishments and so many more? North Park, USA.
